Aaron is an Associate Senior Structural Engineer in our Sydney team with over 10 years of experience. He was appointed to the position of Associate in July 2020.
He has been involved in a wide range of both public and private projects including commercial, educational, low to high rise residential, health and retrofitting from concept stage to construction. Through complex projects, he has developed many creative and yet practical solutions which enabled completely different approach to various problems that arise throughout the project’s life, and he always continues to develop these ideas and solutions to maximise the outcome for his clients.
Aaron’s speciality lies in the design and construction of complex concrete frame structures and deep basements. Aaron has successfully led and delivered complex projects such as Chau Chak Wing Museum ($60Mil) which required a design life of 100 years, and involved over 16m deep ground excavation, and state-of-the-art post-tensioned 15m long cantilever architectural off-form concrete walls that support slabs spanning almost 40m. He was heavily involved in testing of various concrete mix designs, and selecting the right mix to control the crack width for the entire off-form concrete floating box structure to less than 0.2mm with minimal pour breaks.
He has also led and delivered accelerometer bunker walls for the North Shore Health Hub ($119Mil), in which the wall thickness was up to 2.4m thick with less than 0.1mm crack width for radiation shielding.
His current interests include architectural off-form concrete and mix design, and temporary works associated with complex construction.
In your opinion, what makes SCP special?
I enjoy working with the Directors as they have a lot of experience and knowledge and really take a hands-on approach working on all projects across the business. Most importantly, Directors trust all employees and we know how to work hard and have fun.
