What are you most passionate about in your role(what drives you)?

I find great satisfaction in project coordination and delivery, and enjoy leading and growing a talented team of technicians. We are lucky to work in an industry that is constantly evolving and I am excited about what the future of construction looks like.

In your opinion, what makes SCP special?

No question, our people! I feel like part of a family at SCP. I have been with SCP Consulting since 2009 and have seen significant growth and development within the company in that time, but I also believe we have done a wonderful job at maintaining a high level of connection and teamwork. The leadership team remains accessible and hands on, sharing knowledge and creating opportunities for our future leaders to grow and shine. We have a supportive and enjoyable workplace culture which results in high-performing teams delivering incredible projects.

What are the top 3 projects of your career so far and why?

Tuggeranong Office Park, ACT This was a large project that ran well from start to finish. It is a project that has always stuck in my head as an ideal for the way projects ‘should run’. I was proud of what we produced, and I was happy with the finished product, a few of the project team have even driven past to check it out when visiting Canberra.

Chris O’Brien Lifehouse at RPA, NSW This was a special project to me because of what it was going to be used for. This really stands out to me as one of the first times I felt that my career was making a difference to people’s lives.

HMAS Watson, NSW I feel this was a project that created a lot of growth for me in my career, particularly in terms of project management. The redevelopment consisted of multiple buildings over 2 stages and required significant coordination and planning to deliver on time for multiple milestones and LODs which I took a lead role in. Achieving these milestone deliverables and working with a great project team internally as well as consultants made Watson a personally rewarding project.

Consulting engineers delivering differently.
