Ravee joined SCP in March 2006 and has achieved the position of Associate as a result of his consistently valuable contribution in professional engineering services and by building solid client relationships.
He is experienced in a variety of structural engineering design disciplines, working closely with his colleagues and clients to achieve high quality results.
Ravee is adept at team leadership and is an excellent example to our younger, less experienced engineers displaying the qualities of a seasoned professional in his approach to all projects.
What are you most passionate about in your role (what drives you)?
I love being involved in every project from concept stage through to completion, I particularly enjoy design co-ordination and collaboration with other consultants and providing Value Engineering solutions for clients. I am also committed to guiding junior engineers to progress in their career through providing practical advice and hands on opportunities to learn new skills.
What are the top 3 projects of your career so far and why?
Centrale – mixed used residential development, 1-17 Delhi Road, North Ryde NSW The project consists of four towers, constructed over two sites separated by North Ryde train station. Towers are 15 storeys above ground floor and basements are 2 storeys below ground floor. The basement extends deep underground and involved delicate excavation due to the proximity to existing railway tunnels, some footings also required vibration isolation bearings to avoid any vibration issues due to the railway tunnels.
King and Phillip – 148 King Street, Sydney NSW A luxury 25 storey residential building in the heart of the Sydney CBD with 5 levels of basement car parking. I oversaw design, detailing and construction services of this project which was very challenging due to site constraints including requiring vertical cuts in sandstone rock for 5 levels of basement below road levels.
Small Road Public School, Ryde NSW Part of School Infrastructure rollout, the school building itself is a 3 storey circular concrete structure with large column free space and triple height school entry, designed to support up to 1000 children and 70 staff. The school was required to be delivered to a tight project timeline which required structural completion in under a year. In consideration of the project brief and in particular the timeframe for construction, the building was completed by maximising the use of prefabricated elements such as preformed columns, precast walls, precast Megabeams and Ultrafloor infill, 80% of the construction occurred off site and were simply delivered to site, ready for assembly. This project was nominated in the ACSE Awards in the medium building category.
