Description

The Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) is a $740M medical, research and education redevelopment of the existing Liverpool Hospital which was first established in 1813. The new hub will provide enhanced facilities to meet population growth in south-western Sydney.

LHAP will generate 900 new maternity and paediatric beds, an expanded emergency department and significantly increase the capacity of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It will feature a new Integrated Cancer Centre, facilities for teaching and research and upsize existing radiology, haematology, aged care and rehabilitation capabilities.

Stage 1 of the construction will involve the redevelopment of the main hospital entrance, maternity services, outpatient and support services and provide a new pathology department and an expansion of the emergency department.

Stage 2 of the works will involve the construction of the new Integrated Services Building comprising outpatient clinics, inpatient units, a new wellness centre and loading dock.

A major structural refurbishment of the Clinical Services and Caroline Chisholm Buildings will be staggered across the stages to minimise disruption to operations during the build.
